All we know about the Marlay Park queue issues with more concerts this week

Green Day fans were left fuming on Monday night as they were forced to join a massive queue spanning over 1.5km to get into the concert venue.

Eager concertgoers were snapped waiting in the lengthy queue, which stretched a great distance before the entrance to Marley Park.

Thousands of fans were rather peeved to discover that on their arrival, just one entrance into the venue was open, leading to a huge backlog of people.

Many took to social media to complain about the gig's organisation, with one calling it a "disaster".

One man wrote: "1.8km away from Marlay Park and ONE entrance open! No toilets or staff for updates along the way."

A second wrote: "Anyone know whats happening at #marlaypark stuck in massive queue with little movement."

Someone posted pictures of people queuing for the gig, writing: "The state of the queue to get in to Marlay Park. Surely @mcd_productions should have made safer arrangements for people!!! Actually standing on the side of a road with traffic passing."

Fears a similar situation will unfold tonight, and Wednesday have risen as rock legends Guns N Rosed take to the Marlay Park stage, followed by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers on Wednesday. And with the weather forecast looking quite abysmal, no one will want to be queuing for long outdoors.

MCD Productions have been contacted by the Irish Mirror ahead of the upcoming shows.

Green Day was the latest event to cause concert chaos after a busy schedule of shows last week saw their own mishaps.

Lewis Capaldi

Lewis Capaldi was forced to grind his show in Malahide Castle to a halt four times on Saturday night as he checked if members of the crowd were okay.

The dense crowds of fans is believed to have led to a couple of people becoming a little queasy.

The audience praised Lewis for his concern, and the show continued as normal after the incidents.

Gerry Cinnamon

Gerry Cinnamon was forced to call a halt to his electric one man show at Malahide Castle last Sunday.

The Scottish singer called stopped mid-song after a member of the crowd threw a firework on stage.

Gerry appeared to be rather peeved with the culprit as he branded him a "c***" and asked other members of the crowd to point the perpetrator out so that security could escort him out of the arena.

Fans praised the singer who did not let the incident take away from the night.

After reiterating to the crowd that everyone must look after each other to have a fun and safe night Gerry got straight back into his song, dedicating it to all the fans who were behaving.

Later on he described what had happened to the crowd saying "some wee c*** had his pants filled with fireworks".

Harry Styles

Pop sensation Harry Styles was praised by fans on Wednesday evening for his crowd safety awareness after a few small incidents at the Aviva Stadium.

The former One Directioner called a halt to the gig at two different stages to check on members of the crowd close to the stage.

And fans told the Irish Mirror that his attention to safety was "top class" and certainly didn't ruin the mood of a concert that could be heard right around Dublin.

The Script

The Script were forced to stop their concert mid-song and call in security after an altercation in the crowd on Thursday night.

Danny O'Donoghue and his bandmates were playing their third 3Arena show in consecutive days with free tickets for frontline workers from the HSE.

The singer praised the crowd and their energy throughout but midway through the set was left with no choice but to call in security and call a halt to the performance.

An unimpressed Danny said: "We're going to have to stop now and get security in, that's not what tonight's about."

After no more than three or four minutes the Dublin star was happy to get the concert back underway as two young men were escorted by security out of the 3Arena.

Fans commended the singer and it didn't take away from the gig which had the crowd dancing throughout.

Their tour honours everything that the trio - Danny, Glen Power and Mark Sheehan - have achieved together since 2007.
