PASSENGERS are facing major disruption after trains were cancelled following an obstruction affecting the overhead lines at a busy Glasgow station.
ScotRail confirmed on Saturday morning that services have been cancelled as services are unable to operate via Glasgow Queen St Low Level due to the obstruction at Charing Cross.
The train operator has advised passengers who are travelling to Glasgow to change at Partick or Hyndland for services to Glasgow Central Lower Level.
ScotRail confirmed that ticket acceptance is also in place with the Glasgow Subway service.
It is understood that all trains traveling to the likes of Milngavie have been cancelled until around 3pm.
A spokesperson for ScotRail said in a statement: “We have been advised there is an obstruction on the overhead lines at Charing Cross which means we’re unable to operate services via Glasgow Queen St Low Level for now.
“Customers for Glasgow are advised to change at Partick or Hyndland for services to Glasgow Central LL.”
It comes after damage to overhead lines in Glasgow's southside caused disruption at Glasgow Central through all of Friday, June 26.
