All the ways to get money back EVERY time you shop - from cashback sites to credit cards

There are plenty of ways to get money back on everyday spends, from cashback websites to reward credit cards.

You might be surprised to know that almost all your purchases could potentially earn you cashback.

It can be for everyday things like buying a coffee or petrol, to the bigger spends like booking a holiday.

If you're already making these purchases anyway, then it doesn't make sense not to try and get cashback.

You just need to remember to click through from a cashback website, or use a particular card when making a purchase.

Keep in mind that some cashback can take several weeks to come through, so don't think of it as an instant cash boost.

If you do decide to use a credit card, always make sure you can pay off the purchase in full, otherwise you could end up paying interest.

Use cashback websites for every purchase

Cashback websites give you a percentage of your money back when you make a qualifying spend.

To do this, you first log into the cashback website and then search for the brand you want to shop with.

You then need to click through to the retailer via the cashback website link, then complete your purchase as normal.

Some of the most popular cashback websites, which are free to sign up to, are TopCashback and Quidco.

TopCashback says members can earn £300 on average a year through cashback.

Partner brands you’ll find on these websites include Asda, Currys, Argos, eBay and M&S.

Get money off your phone bill

Airtime Rewards is an app that lets you get money off your phone bill when you make a qualifying purchase.

All you need to do is connect it to you bank account, then the app will automatically register when you've visited a partner store.

Airtime Rewards tracks your spending at over 100 retailers and gives you between 1% to 12% cashback.

Some of the retailers it works with right now - which can change from time to time - include Greggs, Argos, New Look and more.

Once you've built up enough cashback, you can then use this to get money off your phone bill. You can redeem credit in £10 increments.

Phone providers that work with Airtime Rewards include EE, O2, Vodafone, GiffGaff and Three.

Make use of cashback credit cards - if you're sensible

Some credit cards will give you money back, or points which you can convert into vouchers, when you make purchases.

But a word of warning: you need to be sensible when using these, as not paying off your credit card in full every month can result in added interest.

If you miss payments, this can affect your credit file.

Some cards also impose a minimum spend to get the rewards, so do read the terms and conditions carefully.

To give you some examples of reward credit card deals on offer right now, American Express offers 5% cashback for your first three months, up to a maximum of £100.

This then drops to 0.5% cashback up to £10,000 spent, then 1% cashback on spends above £10,000.

Or the American Express Preferred Rewards Card gives you 20,000 bonus points when you spend £3,000 in your first three months.

There are lots of different deals out there. You can see more examples of cashback credit card rewards on the MoneySavingExpert website.

Debit cards and current accounts offer cashback too

Some debit card providers also give you cashback too, which could be a more sensible option if you're worried about meeting monthly repayments.

Chase Bank Mastercard gives 1% cashback - but it only lasts for 12 months.

Or you can check if your current account provider offers cashback.

For example, the Santander Edge account gives you 1% cashback, up to £10 a month, on selected household bills when you pay by direct debit.

You can also get 1% cashback, also up to £10 a month, at supermarkets and on travel costs when you use your debit card.

But the account does come with a £3 monthly fee, meaning your total potential cashback is £17 a month.
