Industrial action within different sectors is continuing to cause disruption right across the UK with services in Wales being affected every week. After a year defined by a sharp rise in strike action in 2022, unions are planning further walkouts in the coming weeks and months as they fight for better pay and working conditions.
Among those striking are nurses, paramedics, teachers and rail workers. Thousands of teachers are set to walk out across four days in the coming months after voting overwhelmingly to strike in a dispute over pay and conditions, with school closures now very much on the cards across Wales on those days.
Members of the Royal College of Nursing are planning further strikes in February after holding two previous days of industrial action in December, with one of these strike dates set to coincide with ambulance workers across Wales also walking out. After rail strikes were held throughout 2022, some train drivers are set to engage in further industrial action in the coming weeks, causing delays on services across the country. Court staff are also set to walk out, while the Communications Workers Union (CWU) has threatened more national postal strikes.
With the amount of industrial action taking place increasingly on a weekly basis, it can be difficult to know which services are being affected and when. To help you, here are all the dates that strikes are currently planned in 2023.
