As a mark of respect for the Queen's funeral today, many stores and businesses will be closing their doors or changing their operational hours.
While the government announced that there is "no obligation to suspend business" during the national mourning period, businesses can still opt to close their doors on the day of the state funeral in respect of the late monarch. Regardless, this is "at the discretion of individual businesses".
The Government guidance is: “Some businesses may wish to consider closing or postponing events, especially on the day of the state funeral, however, this is at the discretion of individual businesses.”
