Ryanair and easyJet are among the airlines to add new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport for 2023.
It was announced this week three more new routes will be offered by Ryanair - flying to Ibiza, Madrid and Shannon, while easyJet will begin flying from Liverpool to Corfu in 2023. The new routes offered by the budget airlines form part of a different offering from Liverpool Airport in 2023, having welcomed a number of new airlines in the past few months.
Icelandic airline PLAY began operating from the airport in October, offering services to Reykjavík–Keflavík Airport, as well as onward connections to America. Additionally, it was confirmed in November that Norwegian airline Widerøe will return to Liverpool John Lennon Airport next year.

The Scandinavian airline last operated from Liverpool in 2020, with their previous service coming to an end due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it will return with twice weekly departures to Bergen from March 31, 2023.
Ryanair's three new destinations join a number of previously-announced new or resumed routes from Liverpool, namely Copenhagen, Malta and Szczecin. Lufthansa will also continue to provide worldwide connections from Liverpool, via a stop in Frankfurt, having launched in May.
The addition of new airlines at the Speke-based airline and new offerings from its existing airline partners means the following destinations will be on offer next summer, having not been on offer in summer 2022:
- Bergen (Widerøe)
- Reykjavik (PLAY)
- Corfu (easyJet)
- Shannon (Ryanair)
- Ibiza (Ryanair)
- Madrid (Ryanair)
- Copenhagen (Ryanair)
- Malta (Ryanair)
- Szczecin (Ryanair)
On the other hand, Vienna, Talinn and Sibiu have been dropped for 2023, having been available. Additionally, Madrid and Krakow were removed by easyJet but Ryanair will operate to both this summer, so they still feature as destinations from Liverpool Airport.
