Excitement is building as fans from across the globe are getting ready to tune in or even head to Liverpool to watch the Eurovision Song Contest.
The competition first took place in 1956 and over the years we've seen the UK host eight times. And whilst the UK hasn't had the best of times in more recent years, we have claimed the winning title five times since the 1960s.
Liverpool is hosting the competition this year on behalf of Ukraine, who could not hold the competition for safety and security reasons due to the ongoing invasion by Russia. The UK's 2022 contestant Sam Ryder just missed out on the top spot and as a result, Liverpool will be welcoming Europe for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.

The last time the UK won Eurovision was 26 years ago in 1997 when Katrina and the Waves triumphed with Love Shine A Light. And Chronicle Live previously shared every UK entry to ever compete in Eurovision.
This year, Mae Muller will fly the flag for the United Kingdom in Liverpool's Eurovision Song Contest. As Eurovision comes to Liverpool, why not take a trip back in time and reminsce of these past acts who represented the UK - how many do you remember?
