All the new McDonald's menu items launching today - from mini potato waffles to McCrispy

If you were thinking about treating yourself to a cheeky McDonald's tonight, here's your sign to do so - as there's a whole host of brand-new menu items to try that make the perfect excuse for skipping your veggies for one day.

From today, the fast-food giant is officially serving the new McCrispy burger - which marks the first time in 15 years a new chicken burger has been made a permanent addition to the menu - alongside four other delicious additions ranging from breakfast snacks to sweet treats.

The star of the new menu is, of course, the McCrispy, and when we sent a reporter out to try the new burger, she described it as "divine" and said it was "well worth" the 15-year wait.

The crunchy burger is made with 100% chicken breast fillet, which has been marinated in black pepper and cayenne. It's then topped with McDonald's classic mayonnaise with added cracked black pepper and a savoury roasted chicken flavour to give it a "fancy" and "umami" taste, according to the restaurant.

The McCrispy is available for £6.49 as part of an Extra-Value meal.

If the idea of a new chicken burger isn't up your alley, then you might want to sink your teeth into the other burger making its way back on the menu - the BBQ Bacon Stack.

The juicy treat - which is crafted from two British and Irish beef patties and topped with bacon and pepper jack cheese - was axed from the temporary menu last summer but it's back with a bang, and will cost you £6.89 for a large.

Alongside the new burgers, some tasty Nacho Cheese Wedges are joining the new cohort. They are filled with melted nacho cheese and chunks of jalapeno and come with a sour cream and chive dip. Launching from 26th October, the wedges will set you back £2.29 for a portion of five, or £5.99 for a share box.

To finish off your all-new meal, you can pick up a new Twirl McFlurry favour, priced at £1.69 for a regular or £1.19 for a mini version.

And the final menu addition is actually designed for those of us who can't resist a Maccies breakfast, as the addition of the mini potato waffles to the breakfast menu makes a change from the usual - and very tasty - hash brown. The waffles can be ordered for £1.39 for a portion of three.

But you'll have to be quick if you want to get your hands on these tasty new treats, as the menu items will only be around for the next six weeks when all the new additions will be unavailable again - excluding the McCrispy.

The new additions are replacing some items that have been axed from today, including the limited-time Big Tasty burger, and the fan-favourite Chicken Legend, which are both no longer available.

All the new McDonald's menu items launching today:

  • The McCrispy
  • The BBQ Bacon Stack
  • Mini Potato Waffles

  • Twirl McFlurry

Launching 26th October:

  • Nacho Cheese Wedges
