Love Island is back and a Dublin contestant has already been announced.
Dami Hope is the first male contestant announced for the new series which will begin next Monday, June 6 at 9:00pm.
The hunky 26-year-old is a microbiologist, and this year he’s turning his telescope towards the ladies in the villa.
The dating show on ITV has had it’s fair share of Irish contestants in the past few years, who have proven to be a huge hit with viewers, and we're hoping Dami can represent our country and do us proud.
Here are the legends who previously waved the Irish flag in the Majorca villa:
Maura Higgins
Probably the most memorable Irish contestant ever, the Longford beauty entered the 2019 series and instantly won the hearts of the viewers thanks to her witty humour and her epic one-liners like “fanny flutters”.
Her row with Tom Walker is one of the biggest moments in the history of the show.
Now, Maura is an ambassador for many popular fashion and beauty brands, and she even presented her own show on RTE2.
Greg O’Shea
Greg also appeared as a late arrival in the 2019 series of Love Island, entering the villa on Day 43.
He had an instant connection with Amber Gill and the pair went on to win the series.
Ever since, Greg has went on to host shows on Virgin Media and also filled in for Eoghan McDermott on RTE 2FM with Doireann Garrihy.
The Limerick man even went onto play rugby sevens at the Olympics.
Yewande Biala
Yewande was part of the original line-up for the 2019 series.
The Dubliner had a brief romance with fellow islander Danny Williams. There was even an awkward moment where she sat on him that will go down in Love Island history.
The 25-year-old was dumped from the villa on day 22 of the series, after Danny chose to couple up with Arabella.

Matthew MacNabb
Matthew, originally from Downpatrick co. Down, was a Casa Amor bombshell on the last season of Love Island, and lasted just three weeks in the villa.
Matt brought his dry sense of humour and received attention for ending his relationship with Kaz Kamwi on the show.
His dumping went viral and was deemed the quickest dumping in Love Island history by telling her the iconic quote “We’re done”.
In January of this year, the reality TV star swapped his flip flops for dancing shoes on Dancing With The Stars 2022.
He eventually found love with his dance partner Laura Nolan.
Kaila Troy
The Malahide beauty went into Casa Amor back in 2021, and was later scouted by OnlyFans bosses to help ‘change the narrative’ of the raunchy platform.
Kalia admitted that the money she makes from the app is much more than what she makes as a DJ and that the site has changed her life forever.
She previously told Dublin Live: “Looking back I didn’t understand it (OnlyFans), I knew it had potential so that’s why I got on the platform. I didn’t understand how much money you can make.
“I knew I'd move forward and progress but I didn't realise how much money would come in from it. It’s funny that I don't even have to DJ if I don’t want to.
“That platform makes way much more money than I ever did DJing.”
Rob Lipsett
The Dublin native entered the villa as one of the Casa Amor boys during season three, but failed to make a romantic connection with any of the girls.
Shannen Reilly McGrath
Shannen is another 2017 Casa Amor bombshell who failed to make the main villa, and was therefore dumped from the villa after just three days.
Salma Naran
This Dubliner was an Islander in Season 7. Salma entered Casa Amor on Day 29 and was dumped from the island on Day 32.
