All The Game Awards 2023 announcements and trailers

The Game Awards 2023 announcements stretched across nearly every video game genre, from promising indies to hotly anticipated 2024 games and a few big names for 2025, including Monster Hunter. Square Enix debuted another Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth trailer, Atlus showed up with Metaphor ReFantazio, and even Hellblade 2 made an appearance. Briefly. It still doesn’t have a release date either.

Three hours of announcements is a lot for anyone to get through, but we’ve rounded up all The Game Awards 2023 announcements and trailers below, with links to more detailed stories for a few of the biggest reveals.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth theme song

Square Enix debuted the powerful Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth theme song, performed by Loren Allred. If you’re keen on FF7, you definitely need to check it out.

Metaphor ReFantazio

Atlus released a new trailer for Metaphor ReFantazio, which you can check out in our Metaphor recap.

Big Walk

The Untitled Goose Game team is bringing a new world to life, starring what looks like a bunch of drinky birds going on, well, a big walk. Check out the trailer above.

Hellblade 2 trailer

Hellbalde 2 still exists, and there’s a new trailer for it. We finally get a look at actual gameplay, though there’s still no solid release date yet outside of a general 2024 time frame.

Kemuri

Ikumi Nakamura debuted her studio’s new game, Kemuri. It’s based around the idea of the unseen and looks striking, but there’s not much detail about what to actually expect.

God of War Ragnarok DLC

Sony Santa Monica is releasing a free round of roguelike DLC for God of War Ragnarok, and it’s coming up soon. It launches on Dec. 12, 2023.

No Rest for the Wicked

The Ori and the Blind Forest team is working on a gorgeous hack-and-slash RPG that’s more like Diablo than Ori. Check out the No Rest for the Wicked trailer to see for yourself.

Dragon Ball Z Sparking Zero

It’s been a hot minute since we had a Dragon Ball Z game, but Koei Tecmo and Bandai are changing that soon with Dragon Ball Z Sparking Zero.

Rise of the Ronin

It’s been a while, but we got to see more of Rise of the Ronin, and while it’s still a little difficult to get an idea of the game’s soul, aside from Ghost of Tsushima-like, there’s no denying it looks good.

Visions of Mana

The years of remakes and releases culminated in this, a brand-new Mana game, and it looks beautiful.

Exodus

Former BioWare devs are making a deep, narrative-driven RPG in space – with a famous actor in the lead role. Check out who it is in our Exodus recap.

New Suicide Squad trailer

Here’s another look at the Suicide Squad game, which is getting a post-launch update that adds an offline mode.

Warframe: Whispers in the Wall

Digital Extremes showed up with an exciting new look at the next Warframe expansion, Whispers in the Wall.

Fortnite Rocket Racing

Epic dropped a cinematic look at the new Fortnite Rocket League racing crossover. Expect more news soon.

Jurassic Park Survival

If you ever wanted to play a survival game with Jurassic Park dinos, well, here’s your chance.

Tales of Kenzera

Tales of Kenzera is an inventive, colorful take on action platformers that draws deeply on the developer’s culture, and it looks brilliant.

Marvel Blade

Arkane’s next game is a Marvel gameMarvel Blade to be exact. There’s no actual gameplay, but the visual style sure looks good.

The First Berserker

The First Berserker is a grim action-RPG with brutal combat. What the context around all this hacking and slashing is remains a bit of a mystery, but for now, check out a bit of the action in, well, action.

The First Descendant

The First Descendant is coming soon – summer 2024 to be exact – and you can get a look at the latest trailer above.

GTFO Final Chapter

GTFO is about to head out, with the final chapter launching soon, several years after first debuting at the Game Awards.

Monster Hunter Wilds

The next Monster Hunter game takes us into the open wilds, and while Capcom didn’t have much to show off, what is there looks pretty promising. Check out our Monster Hunter Wilds trailer recap for the full thing.

Lost Records

Lost Records is an upcoming adventure game from Dontnod, makers of Life Is Strange and Life Is Strange 2, and it’s got big Stranger Things vibes going on. See for yourself in the Lost Records trailer.

Final Fantasy 16 DLC

Stormgate

Magic, mayhem, killer robots, and a distinct animated style characterize Stormgate, an upcoming action game that enters early access in summer 2024.

Den of Wolves

I’m still not really sure what Den of Wolves is all about, but it looks intense and stylish.

Honkai Star Rail Penacony tease

We got to see the next Honkai Star Rail world! Sort of. Well, barely. The trailer looks nice anyway.

Palia on Switch

Palia, the cozy life-sim from Singularity Six, is coming to Nintendo Switch on Dec. 14, 2023. See what’s in store in the latest trailer above.

Light No Fires

From the makers of hit space game No Man’s Sky comes a bold new open-world game, Light No Fires. Hello Games founder Sean Murray wants to create an open, procedurally generated Earth with as much depth as No Man’s Sky has breadth. There’s no word on when it might release, though.
