The Olympics Opening ceremony is always a spectacular event but the upcoming games in Paris is set to be even bigger and better than ever.
Taking place on the Seine, the 2024 Opening ceremony will see the athletes swap the traditional parade for boats, which will sail past the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Being just days away from the big event, we’re also starting to see some of the world’s biggest stars arrive in Paris, sparking speculation about who might be performing at the 2024 Opening Ceremony.
Below, we share everything we know about the stars rumoured to be taking the stage.
Who Is Performing At The 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony?
While we don’t yet have an official announcement about the artists who will be performing, the arrival of certain stars in Paris has fuelled the speculation.
Celine Dion
One of these stars is Celine Dion, who was spotted walking around Paris on Tuesday.
While the star’s battle with stiff person syndrome has led to a four-year performance hiatus, Dion has been open about her determination to return to the stage.
French radio station RTL, reported that the star was going to spend her first day in Paris getting a fitting at Dior.
Lady Gaga
Another star who’s arrival in Paris has got people talking is Lady Gaga.
The actress and singer was photographed with a piano on a floating platform on the Seine—which certainly implies that she’s going to be part of the opening ceremony.
Aya Nakamura
France is also expecting Aya Nakamura, the biggest French singer in the world, to perform at the ceremony.
Known for songs like Djadja, Copines and Pookie, her music has been streamed more than seven billion times around the globe.
While French President Emmanuel Macron hasn’t confirmed Nakamura’s performance he did say that he believes “she speaks to a good number of our fellow citizens.”
“I think she is absolutely in her rightful place in an opening or closing ceremony,” he said.
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift fans are hoping that their star will make an appearance at the Opening Ceremony.
While it might be optimistic thinking, Taylor is currently on the European leg of her Eras tour—meaning that she’s just a short flight away from Paris.
It also looks like Taylor doesn’t have any scheduled shows on July 26…
We can dream!
