All of the Dublin pantos happening this year

Panto season is fast approaching and after a rocky run last year, which saw many pantos cancel a number of performances due to government restrictions, it it set to come back with a festive bang.

From The Jungle Book to Aladdin to more beloved tales full of music and banter, there are wonderful pantos happening all over the city this festive season. With tickets on sale now, this year's pantos are expected to sell fast.

With Christmas just around the corner and all major Christmas pantos in Dublin already announced, the time to secure tickets is now. Here are all of the pantos happening in Dublin this festive season.

Jungle Book at the Gaiety Theatre

This year's Gaiety Panto has been announced as The Jungle Book. Taking place at the venue from November 27 until January 8, the cast and crew are promising a performance filled with laughs, devilment and high-octane routines.

Speaking to Dublin Live, writer and producer Daryn Crosbie said that the beloved story of The Jungle Book has been panto-fied with some Irish twists. He revealed: "This is the first time The Jungle Book has ever been done in Ireland. We've panto-fied it like we always."

Tickets are on sale now from €21, available though Ticketmaster.ie.

Aladdin at Liberty Hall Theatre

Liberty Panto returns for Christmas after a successful run of summer shows from December 21 to 30. With Jake Carter coming back in the titular role in Aladdin alongside a talented cast, ticket holders can expect vibrant costumes as well as a high-energy show.

Festival director Michael Courtney told Dublin Live: "We have a lot of special effects - a magic carpet, the whole lot. It's going to be really interesting and I hope this kids enjoy it." Tickets can be purchased at libertypanto.com.

Liberty Panto (Liberty Panto)

Peter Pan at the Axis Theatre, Ballymun

Drag star Dame Stuffy returns to the land of pantomimes this festive season in Peter Pan at the Axis Theatre in Ballymun. Running from January 5 until 29, those going to see the show can expect the classic tale of Peter Pan alongside some high-energy panto additions.

Olly, Polly & the Beanstalk at The 3Olympia Theatre

Olly, Polly & The Beanstalk comes to 3Olympia Theatre, from Wednesday, December 21 2022 until Sunday, January 8 2023. Starring Fair City star Ryan Andrews, social media personality James Patrice, the West End's Rob Vickers and Conor McGregor's sister Erin, it's set to be a blast.

This spin on the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk promises a laugh per minute as well as fabulous dances and the usual panto colour and life. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.

Snow White at the National Stadium

Snow White takes place at the National Stadium from December 13. The show stars Ireland AM presenter Alan Hughes as Sammy Sausages and Rob Murphy as Buffy.

Also among the stellar cast is Marty Morrissey and Katherine Lynch. Expect plenty of panto twists and turns as well as the usual laughs and musical performances. Tickets can be purchased at panto.ie.

Peter Pan at Grange Woodbine Club

Peter Pan flies into Grange Woodbine Club in Raheny for panto season, taking place between February 8th and 19th 2023. Produced by panto and performing arts expert Sean Gilligan, Dublin Panto has been delighting north Dublin locals since 2011.

With a cast of local talent, audiences can expect Grange Woodbine club to be completely transformed into Neverland. Naturally, there will be plenty of show-stopping performances and laughs as well. Tickets can be purchased at gr8events.ie.

Hansel & Gretel at The Helix

Hansel & Gretel skips into The Helix in Dublin City University, taking place from November 25 2022 until January 15 2023. Produced as always by TheatreworX Productions, the show promises fun for all the family with plenty of magic and laughter.

The show sees Hansel and Gretel journey through the magical pantosphere of intrigue and adventure. Panto favourites Buddy (Colin Hughes), Laurel (Aidan Mannion), the wickedly wonderful Paul Byrom, the multi talented Orla Jennings and the hilarious Dame Lola (Chris Corroon) are joined by some new faces this year. Sleeping Beauty Draiocht

Blanchardstown locals will get to experience the magic of Sleeping Beauty this panto season as the show takes place at the venue between January 5 and 22. After missing out in January 2021 & 2022 due to Covid, audiences are being promised a stellar show. Tickets can be purchased here.

Little Red Riding Hood at the Mill Theatre

Little Red Riding Hood takes place in the Mill Theatre in Dun Laoghaire from December 8 2022 until January 8 2023. Written and directed by Geoff O'Keefe, the show takes the audience into the magical panto woods for a mystical journey.

Mill Productions’ one hour panto is packed with colourful costume, sparkling songs, dazzling dance routines and lots of laughs. Tickets can be purchased at milltheatre.ie.
