'All of a sudden' - Roy Keane disagrees with Gary Neville Liverpool prediction after Man City win

Roy Keane has appeared to disagree with Gary Neville over whether Liverpool can win the Premier League title.

Liverpool moved to within 14 points of leaders Arsenal after claiming a 1-0 victory over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Mohamed Salah’s goal was the difference between the two sides.

The Reds put their recent Premier League struggles behind them to end City's unbeaten run. Jurgen Klopp’s side played with the sort of intensity that supporters witnessed for most of last season.

And when discussing what Liverpool can achieve this season following the win, Neville claimed the Reds should focus on the Champions League as the title was gone. But Keane refused to make such claims and simply believes that Klopp's side will fancy their chances of climbing the table with their upcoming games.

“I think this week is going to be a big week for them, they’ve got the three games, big win today,” Keane told Sky Sports. “On paper, the games coming up you fancy their chances but all of a sudden the table looks different. The confidence they’ll get from today, the clean sheet, I think the spirit in the camp, seven goals in midweek.

"When you win football matches it gives you a lift, obviously it’s tight at the top, Arsenal at the top, Man City still brilliant, I think Liverpool will be feeling a lot better.”

Before Neville later added: “I think Liverpool will go on a run of some kind - it’s just in what.

“The success for them now is the Champions League, I think they’re too far away from the title, I think they will get closer to teams that think the World Cup could help them in terms of stopping what’s happened and that’ll really help them.”
