North Ayrshire Council have confirmed that all schools are set to close next week due to strike action.
The local authority announced this afternoon that the primaries, academies and ASN schools won't open on Thursday, November 24.
Teachers are set to walk out in a row over pay and conditions.
However, the council said that all standalone Early Years Centres and a number of Early Years Classes within schools are expected to remain open.
Parents and carers will be notified directly by their child’s establishment if the early years class will be open.
North Ayrshire's arrangements emerged today following East and South Ayrshire also declaring their plans.
A spokesperson for North Ayrshire Council said: "Parents and carers are being advised that all schools in North Ayrshire will be closed next Thursday, November 24, due to planned industrial action.
"Although the strike action will mean that primary, secondary and ASN schools will be closed to pupils, all standalone Early Years Centres and a number of Early Years Classes within schools are expected to remain open.
"Parents and carers will be notified directly by their child’s establishment if the early years class will be open.
"Those children who are in receipt of a free school meal will be able to access a packed lunch on Thursday, November 24.
"Collection is available from the nearest school, therefore parents and carers do not need to go to the school their child(ren) attends if this is not convenient.
"Collection time is between 11am-1pm and will be located at the front entrance of the school.
"Should there be any further change to these arrangements, we will communicate this as quickly as possible to parents and carers."
