All Monsters in YapYap & How to Deal With Them

YapYap has quite a few monsters lurking throughout the map. Every monster in the tower has different interactions, and one wrong move can instantly end a run. So, knowing how enemies behave is far more important than knowing how to fight them. To help you with that, this monster guide for YapYap breaks down every monster you will encounter, explains what makes them dangerous, and shows you exactly how to counter each one.

All Monsters in YapYap And Their Counters

Monster How To Counter
Goblins Push back with Wind Wand, farm safely with Piss-Yuk, avoid getting surrounded
Guards Shoot helmet for points, use terrain and decoys, keep distance
The Eye Break line of sight using walls and pillars
The Slime Avoid dead ends, never let it block stairways
Time Ghost Cannot be countered, ends the run when timer hits zero

Goblins

Goblins are fast and individually weak monsters in YapYap, but they become dangerous when they spawn in large numbers or with weapons later in the tower. Their real threat comes from overwhelming you in small spaces, where movement is limited and damage stacks rapidly.

To counter Goblins, you need to position yourself properly rather than deal damage. The Wind Wand is extremely effective at pushing them away and buying time to escape. Piss-Yuk is ideal for farming points since each hit grants points without instantly killing them. Always keep an escape route open and never let yourself get boxed in.

Guards

Guards are red-armored knights that deal massive damage, capable of killing you in two hits. While they are slow and have poor pathfinding, a single mistake around them can be fatal, especially if your mic noise attracts them unexpectedly.

The safest way to deal with Guards is indirect interaction. Shooting off their helmet grants points, after which you should disengage immediately. They cannot climb, so higher ground and obstacles are your best defense. The Duplico spell can create distractions, letting you reposition or escape without drawing direct attention.

The Eye

The Eye is a slow-moving monster that functions like a turret, firing a laser that deals serious ranged damage. While it does not move, it mostly spawns in areas that force you into bad positioning.

Breaking the line of sight is the only reliable counter. Walls, pillars, and corners completely neutralize its attack. The real danger comes from the lack of vision, as The Eye can distract you long enough for other monsters to close in. Always clear your escape path before dealing with it.

The Slime

The Slime is a slow-moving gelatinous cube that rarely kills you directly. But it can be dangerous since it can block your paths, like staircases and narrow corridors. Avoid treating the Slime as harmless. If it blocks your retreat while other enemies are active, it can trap you into a guaranteed death. Always plan your movement so the Slime is never between you and an exit, particularly later in the game.

Time Ghost

The Time Ghost is not a traditional monster but a fail-safe one. It spawns automatically when the level timer reaches zero and instantly kills you and any other player currently on the map.

There is no way to fight or escape the Time Ghost. The only way you can counter it is to extract before time ends. Always keep track of the clock and prioritize reaching safety or finishing objectives before the timer expires.
