Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has spoken about his rumoured interest in Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg.
Van den Berg enjoyed a fruitful spell with Championship outfit Preston North End last season, turning out a total of 50 times. And there has been speculation that the 20-year-old could be heading back to the second tier of English football for another loan spell - this time with Burnley.
But while the Clarets, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are seemingly keen on bringing in the Dutch defender, their new manager hasn't given much away.

When quizzed on the matter ahead of his side's trip to Watford on Friday evening, former Manchester City captain Kompany began by insisting: “We’re talking about another club’s player.
''All I can say is Sepp is a really good player but a key part of it is to find a balance between the players we’ve already got and the game time, making sure that we’re strong enough. And if I follow the progress of our team I think it’s fair to say we have been defending well in our own way.''
Having lost Nathan Collins to Wolves and James Tarkowski to Everton, it seems Burnley are aiming to rebuild their backline that was once so highly thought of under ex-boss Sean Dyche.
