Yes, the Ancient Shark, Shark, and Scorpionfish will attack you on sight.
The rarest and most expensive fish is the Ancient Shark, which is a type of mini-boss in Abyss.
You'll need at least the Pufferfish Tube in order to dive deep enough to reach this zone.
You will need the Air Rifle Gun at a minimum to be able to catch the weakest fish in the Ancient Sands
