All EA FC 26 PlayStyles, Explained

No matter if you are looking to build the perfect player in Clubs or searching for the right investments in Ultimate Team, having a grasp on what each PlayStyle does is a necessity in EA FC 26.

But although long-time players pride themselves on knowing them by heart, it’s always good to have a place to return to. To help you with that, here’s an overview of what all PlayStyles do in FC 26.

All Finishing PlayStyles, Explained

  • Finesse Shot: Allows players to perform the shots faster. Also boosts their accuracy and curve.
  • Chip Shot: Boosts the speed and accuracy of chips.
  • Power Shot: Significantly increases the build-up speed and accuracy of Power Shots
  • Dead Ball: Boosts the speed, accuracy, and power of your shots/passes when delivering all types of set pieces. Players with it have access to a more intricate trajectory preview, as well. A must if you want to score easy free-kick goals using our strategy.
  • Precision Header: Boosts the accuracy of headers and allows players to perform unique animations. Does not affect your player’s ability to jump.
  • Acrobatic: Increases the accuracy of volleys. Also allows players to perform unique acrobatic shooting animations.
  • Low Driven Shot: Boosts the accuracy and overall speed of low driven shots
  • Gamechanger: Allows players to perform Trivelas. Also boosts the accuracy/speed of fancy shots and allows players to perform unique shot animations.

All Passing PlayStyles, Explained

  • Incisive Pass: Boosts the accuracy of through passes, the speed of precision passes, and the curve of swerve passes.
  • Pinged Pass: Boosts the speed and ease to receive of all types of passes.
  • Long Ball Pass: Increases the accuracy and speed of lobs and lofted passes. They also become harder to intercept.
  • Tiki Taka: First touch and short passes have increased accuracy. Players will also perform backweels if appropriate.
  • Whipped Pass: Boosts the accuracy, travel speed, and curve of crosses.
  • Inventive: Boosts the accuracy of fancy passes and allows players to perform Inventive animations.

All Defending PlayStyles, Explained

  • Jockey: Increases your player’s Sprint Jockey and transition speed.
  • Block: improves your player’s range and success rate when performing blocks.
  • Intercept: Boosts your player’s reach and ability to retain possession following successful interceptions.
  • Anticipate: Boosts your standing tackle success rate and ability to cleanly take possession after an attempt. Players with the PlayStyle also gain the ability to stop the ball dead at their feet following standing tackles.
  • Slide Tackle: Boosts the effectiveness of slide tackles and allows players to keep the ball at their feet following attempts.
  • Aerial Fortress: Boosts jump height and aerial presence (your ability to win duels in the air).

All Ball Control PlayStyles, Explained

  • Technical: Boosts your controlled sprint speed and precision when performing wide turns during/following dribbles.
  • Rapid: Boosts your on-the-ball speed. Reduces the chances of bad touches during sprints or knock-ons.
  • First Touch: Increases your ability to control the ball after tapping it and your speed when starting dribbles.
  • Trickster: Gives players access to exclusive skill moves, like the Trickster Fake Shot.
  • Press Proven: Improves your ball control when dribbling at jog speed. Also boosts your ability to shield the ball when under pressure.

All Physical PlayStyles, Explained

  • Quick Step: Boost your player’s acceleration when entering Explosive Sprint (Also known as the Mbappé special).
  • Relentless: Increases stamina regeneration speed and the duration of contain and partial team press tactics.
  • Long Throw: Boosts the power and maximum distance of throw-ins.
  • Bruiser: Boosts your ability to get opponents off the ball with physical tackles.
  • Enforcer: Allows your player to perform shoulder challenges and increases their ability to shield the ball.

All Goalkeeping PlayStyles, Explained

  • Far Throw: Increases the power and distance of throws.
  • Footwork: Boosts your player’s performance when saving with their feet. Gives them access to unique foot save animations.
  • Cross Claimer: Increases your player’s ability to reach the ball fast and intercept crosses via both a boost in speed and the use of new animations.
  • Rush Out: Increases speed when rushing out of the box. Also allows keepers to perform unique reflex/anticipation animations and boosts their ability to read close shots.
  • Far Reach: Gives keepers unique long diving and jumping animations. Also affects their ability to perform successful saves against out-of-the-box shots.
  • Deflector: Players with this PlayStyle have access to unique animations and will deflect shots to safer areas or open teammates.
