All areas of the Liverpool City Region record falls in Covid infections of at least a third

Covid infections have fallen by at least a third in every area of the Liverpool City Region.

According to the latest data from Public Health England, in the Liverpool City Region there were 5,738 cases in the week ending April 10, which is 4,021 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 41% in the Liverpool City Region.

Each area of the LCR saw infections plummet, with the biggest fall being recorded in Halton. There were 490 cases in the week ending April 10, which is 432 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 47% in Halton.

The other week-on-week percentage change figure falls were; 43% in Knowsley; 45% in Liverpool; 36% in St Helens; 33% in Sefton; 42% in Wirral.

There were also falls in Warrington, West Lancs, and Cheshire West and Chester. And England also recorded a week-on-week percentage change figure fall of 37% in infections.

Liverpool

Liverpool's positive tests came to 1,516 cases in the week ending April 10, which is 1,263 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 45%. The latest infection rate was 302.9 cases per 100,000 people.

Wirral

Wirral's positive tests came to 1,330 cases in the week ending April 10, which is 954 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure fell by 42%. The latest infection rate was 410.1 cases per 100,000 people.

Halton

There were 490 positive tests over the last week - that's 432 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 47% in Halton in the week ending April 10. The latest infection rate is 377.6 cases per 100,000 people.

St Helens

There was a total of 721 cases in the week ending April 10, which is 409 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 398.1 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure went down by 36%.

Knowsley

There was a total of 527 cases in the week ending April 10, which is 397 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 345.7 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure dropped by 43%.

Sefton

Sefton had a total of 1,154 cases in the week ending April 10, which is a 566 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 418.3 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases fell by 33% week on week.

Liverpool City Region

There were 5,738 positive tests over in the week ending April 10, which is 4,021 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change fell by 41%. The latest infection rate is 336.99 cases per 100,000 people.

Warrington

There were 930 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 10, which is 635 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure went down by 41%. There was an infection rate of 444.13 per 100,000 people.

Cheshire West and Chester

There were 1,544 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 10, which is 1,098 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate is 449.07 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage dropped by 42% in cases.

West Lancs

There were 399 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending April 10, which is 243 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 348.48 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage dropped by 38% in cases.

England

In the week ending April 10, England recorded 228,332 coronavirus cases, which is 133,396 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage fell by 37% in England, and there was an infection rate of 403.77 per 100,000 people.
