Morrisons announced yesterday that it has slashed the prices of 47 products to help with rising food bills.
The supermarket is cutting prices for staple items such as mince, tomatoes, butter, squash and cereal across all of its 499 stores. The price cut is said to last for around eight weeks.
According to the most recent official data, food inflation hit 19.3% in April, dipping only slightly from March's 19.6% - the highest rate for more than 45 years. With a massive rise in food bills, this will mark the stores sixth round of reductions in 2023.
