All 32 NFL head coaches, ranked by career win percentage

Entering his 17th season as a head coach in the NFL, Denver Broncos skipper Sean Payton has the seventh-best career win percentage (.615) in the league.

The only coaches above Payton are Jim Harbaugh (.688), Matt LaFleur (.656), Nick Sirianni (.643), Andy Reid (.639), Sean McDermott (.624) and Mike Tomlin (.621).

Harbaugh now coaches the Los Angeles Chargers, but he went 44-19 with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011-2014 before returning to college football. He’s now back in the NFL with the best win percentage among active coaches.

LaFleur has gone 56-27 with the Green Bay Packers; Sirianni 34-17 with the Philadelphia Eagles; Reid 130-93 with the Eagles and 128-51 with the Chiefs; McDermott 73-41 with the Buffalo Bills; and Tomlin 173-100 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There are four first-year coaches this season who are yet to win or lose any games as a head coach in the NFL: Brian Callahan (Tennessee Titans), Dave Canales (Carolina Panthers), Mike Macdonald (Seattle Seahawks) and Jerod Mayo (New England Patriots).

Here’s a list of the career winning percentages of all 32 head coaches ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
