Alison Hammond has revealed the 'secret' behind her stunning National Television Awards, after declaring she 'should have won' the Best Presenter award over Ant and Dec, who took home the accolade for the 21st year in a row.
Alison recently celebrated 20 years in television, having become a familiar face to millions of viewers in the summer of 2022, when she competed on the third series of Big Brother. She was voted out way earlier than many fans expected, but didn't let that disappointment get her down, as she swiftly joined the This Morning team. And, after hosting competitions and being a showbiz reporter, Alison is now one of the daytime programme's main hosts, fronting the show every Friday with Dermot O'Leary.
While her This Morning colleagues Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield missed out on the NTAs Best Presenter shortlist, Alison was on there. But, while Ant and Dec couldn't be at Thursday's event due to Covid, it was the Geordie duo who triumphed once again, although Stephen Mulhern ripped up their winners' speech! Not taking her defeat lying down though, Alison make a bold claim when she joined Philip, Holly and the rest of the team when This Morning won Best Daytime.

Taking to the mic, she shouted: "This Morning is a mood...but let's be honest I should have won one of these, as cheers sounded out around the room." As well as Alison's speech receiving a huge reaction, her NTAs dress also commanded a lot of attention, with her looking stunning in a long black, dazzling number.
And, as he went through the night's red carpet looks on Friday's Lorraine, fashion expert Mark Hayes revealed Alison's dress was a bespoke design, created just for her by someone in ITV's wardrobe department.
He said: "I think she just looks magnificent," as Lorraine TV reporter Rhia Hebden replied: "This is bespoke, she told me." Offering more of an explanation, Mark continued: "This was David O'Brien he's our Head of Wardrobe over at This Morning and he made that," as Rhia exclaimed: "Did he make that?! She looked amazing. There's something about getting something tailored."
Paying tribute to David, Mark added: "Well done to you sir. Not only was there the dress, there was also this amazing, beautiful, dramatic shoulder piece."
