This Morning's Alison Hammond initially refused to let her co-stars into her home while they were fleeing from the Hunters.
Nik and Eva Speakman told how Alison almost turned them away from her door in a worrying case of mistaken identity.
Alison Hammond, 48, kindly helped to shield the Speakmans while the couple were on the run during their stint on Channel 4 ’s Celebrity Hunted.
The Channel 4 show, which is in aid of Stand Up to Cancer, shows celebrities fighting to stay away from a team of hunters tracking their every move.
The Speakmans turned to Alison’s home to stay out of sight of the Hunters, who were on their tail.
This Morning’s resident therapists praised the help they had received from their celebrity pals and members of the public who they met along their way in evading the Hunters, but made sure to give Alison a special mention.
Nik told the Express : “Well it was across the board, celebrities and non-celebrities were really helpful in getting us to where we got to on the show.
“But Alison, we were staying with Alison and when we turned up on her doorstep, firstly she didn't want to let us in, because she thought we were Hunters because we were in disguise!
“But whenever we’re with Alison, we always have such fun.”
Despite not getting off to the best start when they arrived at Alison’s home, she soon provided comfort for the pair, who were missing their children while on the run.
Nik continued: “A day has never gone by where we have not spoken to our kids, ever, and to be isolated from our kids, that did make us feel lonely.
“And, actually, seeing Alison, because I feel like she’s part of our family, she just made us feel better.”
Eva then recalled: “So you’re there, you don't know if you're gonna make it.
“But then you do, and she's there, and gives you a big hug, and it does feel so comforting. So she was fabulous - so good.”
Nik went on to praise Alison’s home cooking, as she treated the couple to a delicious meal to give them energy for the rest of their adventure.
