Alison Hammond laughs off Dermot O'Leary feud rumours with cheeky comment

Alison Hammond laughed off rumours of a feud with her This Morning co-host Dermot O'Leary with a cheeky comment.

The 48-year-old former Big Brother star cracked a joke after it was reported she and Dermot had a “strained relationship”, and their on-screen chemistry had begun to 'fade'.

Dermot took to social media to share a snap of himself and Alison sharing the This Morning sofa, as he revealed they had been bumped up from their usual Friday slot to presenting the full week, as Holly is on her summer break which she has secretly taken early, according to reports.

“Summer's here! Looking forward to this week with my @alisonhammond55 - we're on from 10am!,” he wrote.

The Brummie presenter was quick to comment on the post, as she hinted at the reports of their feud.

“Cut the tension with a knife,” she sarcastically wrote, alongside laughing face emojis.

Dermot’s followers inundated the Radio 2 DJ with supportive comments, heaping praise on the presenting duo.

“Everyone can see you are best buddies, you can't act that… Can't wait to see the shows this week,” one wrote. “My favourite combo,” another added, as one fan agreed: “Dreaaaaaam team.”

“The best pair and partnership,” another commented. “My feel-good twosome,” one fan chimed in.

It was reported that Alison and Dermot’s long-time friendship was “increasingly strained” in recent months, and ITV bosses are worried they’ll have to split the pair up.

According to the Mail on Sunday, their on-screen partnership has fizzled out amid the ongoing drama surrounding Phillip Schofield’s controversial departure from the ITV daytime show in May.

Back in October, Alison shut down reports she and Dermot had fallen out, and said they purposefully stand further apart on the show if there’s been an article about their feud.

“I love the fact that people think that. I'm gonna keep that going. Go ‘babes, people think we hate each other, let's do a couple of things on the telly like stand further apart',’” she told the Saving Grace podcast.

“Honestly I can't tell you how much I love that man, he's so funny,” Alison added.
