Alison landing the role for this year's BAFTAs, comes as viewers of This Morning have called for her to be promoted from being the show's Friday host to being full time presenter across the week.
As Phillip Schofield and Holly Williougby's return to the ITV daytime show was announced by Alison herself earlier this month, one fan took to Twitter to post: "Can we make Dermot and Alison the permanent hosts of This Morning please?"
A second tweeted: "please can we have Josie Alison Andi Dermot and Craig on permanently please," with another commenting: "Why isn’t Alison Hammond the main presenter now here?, and a fourth writing: "Can we get rid of #HollyandPhil and get queen Alison Hammond in as the main presenter?"
