Alison Hammond has been covered in gold as she take centre stage in Sainsbury's 2022 Christmas advert. The This Morning host has teamed up with the supermarket giant as part of their festive campaign.
The 47-year-old is seen in the short film as The Countess as viewers find themselves transported into an imaginary medieval world. And Alison dazzles in her latest role as she's seen dressed in regal gold gown while sitting on her throne and addressing her subjects.
In hilarious scenes, Alison - or should we say The Countess - is being wined and dined with an array of Christmas treats before declaring it "treatie time" and being presented with an array of deserts by her loyal subjects.

But clearly unimpressed by one offering, she says: "I've never really liked Christmas pudding... The entire room gasps in shock as she blows out the flame on top of the dessert and instructs: "Bring me something different - or else".
After rushing around the kitchen, a young cook unveils another Christmas pudding. The staff wait with baited breath as Alison takes a spoonful and luckily for him, and The Countess, it's caramelised biscuit flavour, which Alison concedes is "a bit of me" before bursting into laughter and adding: "Well done babs!" in her infectious Brummie accent.
Speaking about her role in the advert, the former Big Brother star said: “I absolutely loved playing The Countess in this year’s Sainsbury’s Christmas advert. It got me feeling all festive and was such a laugh! The Taste the Difference Caramelised Biscuit Christmas Pudding was absolutely a bit of me and will definitely make an appearance on our table this year. Just not sure if I can wait until Christmas day to try it again!"
The advert, titled Once Upon a Pud, actually opens with the image of a dragon flying past a grand, isolated castle as the narrator, Stephen Fry, proclaims: "In a far, far away land, a feast was being planned..." And viewers may be surprised by the song.
While not a unique creation for the advert, the lyrics have been stripped from a very memorable track. But those who are keen on their early noughties tunes may have realised its Wheatus classic Teenage Dirtbag.
Meanwhile, Alison also shared a teaser of the advert on her Instagram page and fans were quick to comment. @bohobridges said: "I'm just here for alisons laugh , it's the best!" @marcooth wrote: "So good to see an absolute Brummie ICON in a Christmas ad." @michelledevine_54 commented: "Only Alison could do this. Brilliant!"
@julie_5372 posted: "Just love this. Alison is just the best! that laugh is Infectious. @teiganish shared: "This is everything haha. I adore Alison with my entire heart haha. What an icon!" @jameslowe89 added: "Well if you have @alisonhammond55 you automatically win the Christmas advert battle this year."
