Alfredo Morelos told Michael Beale 'doesn't fancy him' after Rangers Ross County starting snub

Barry Ferguson and Mark Guidi aired their surprise at the omissions of Rangers duo Allan McGregor and Alfredo Morelos against Ross County in Friday evening's Scottish Premiership clash - with Guidi telling Morelos that it is 'time for a parting of ways' between the Colombian and the club.

Rangers travel to Ross County on Friday in search of all three points to temporarily close the gap between themselves and Premiership leaders Celtic to just six - ahead of the Hoops' Christmas Eve clash against St Johnstone. Having drawn 3-3 in Dingwall last time they ventured up to the Highlands, new boss Michael Beale will be hoping his side don't slip on yet another banana skin in their quest to regain the league title after watching it sift away from them last season.

However, despite starting him in the first two games of his Rangers tenure, Beale has left out Morelos for the trip north - instead choosing Fashion Sakala to lead the line against Malky Mackay's men on what is set to be a tough night against the tenth-placed side. And, along with the omission of Allan McGregor through illness, Ferguson and Guidi evaluated the decision to leave the long-serving duo out - with the latter telling Go Radio that Morelos' time at the club could be up.

Ferguson said: "We did expect a few changes. If you ask Allan McGregor about the free kick against him [vs Aberdeen], he'd have expected to save that. I believe that 'Greegsy', with the quality he has, will be disappointed. Saying that, I still believe McGregor is the best goalkeeper at the club - that is the biggest surprise to the starting XI tonight against Ross County.

Guidi further backed Ferguson's claims on McGregor - before claiming that Beale's lack of trust in Morelos to start in Dingwall has begun to spell the end of his time at Ibrox.

"The goalkeeper and Morelos changes are the two that stand out to me. Beale said there would be changes and I think there are four from Pittodrie.

"With Morelos, I don't know if he's injured or carrying something but I think it's a signal that he either doesn't fancy him or he thinks he can't play two games in four days. It's another signal for me that it is time for a parting of ways between Rangers and Morelos."
