Rangers key man Alfredo Morelos is OUT of the derby clash with Celtic after earning a surprise Colombia recall.
Morelos has been revitalised by the arrival of new Ibrox boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst and has scored four goals in his last six matches earning him the cinch Premiership Player of the Month for December.
The 25-year-old was previously cast into the international wilderness by boss Reinaldo Rueda, who appeared not to rate him after he was almost ignored during the Copa America.
Morelos played just nine minutes of Colombia's seven games in the Brazil tournament and hasn't been seen since in subsequent World Cup qualifiers.
They are currently locked in fourth place with Peru, with Chile and Uruguay a point behind. Only the top four qualify for Qatar 2022.
But his form has earned him a surprise recall to the side for the crucial double-header against Peru on January 28th and Argentina on February 1 - which takes place just hours before the second derby clash of the season in Glasgow.
It's a massive blow for Rangers boss Van Bronckhorst as he prepares for his first Old Firm clash as boss.
But with qualifiers also taking place in Asia plus the Africa Cup of Nations, there may yet be more players missing for both sides.
