Alfredo Morelos in mix for new Rangers nickname as striker debuts daring hairdo

Striking star Alfredo Morelos has debuted a new look as he gears up for another pre season. The Rangers forward will report to back to training alongside Gio van Bronckhorst and his side, sporting a new hairdo as he continues to work on his fitness ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

The striker will get back to work, officially, this coming Monday but has been grafting hard throughout the summer as he hopes to get back fit again following an injury that saw him ruled out the end of last season. Morelos was forced to sit out key clashes, including the Europa League Final.

The Ibrox outfit are set to jet off to Portugal next month to complete a week long training camp. The Light Blues have a number of exciting pre season clashes pencilled in before the competition season begins and Morelos will be looking to impress to book his slot back in Gio's starting line up. And Morelos is hoping to at least look the part as he joins back up with the Light Blues. The 26-year-old posted a picture of his hair make over on Instagram as he posed alongside pal Wilmar Barrios of Zenit.

His post was met with a number of favourable comments from Gers fans, with some comparing his to a well known face from the tele. One supported suggested the star had gone for a "cheeky wee short back n Philip Schofield".

Most comments were looking for an answer in terms of the striker's future, though. Some fans shared their delight that the star was back fit and playing football, with others asking if he was planning to pen a new deal.

Morelos enjoyed a success campaign last time out before his injury ended his season prematurely. He netted 18 times in 41 matches and will be looking to return to that kind of form in 2022/23.

The upcoming season is a huge one for the Columbian frontman, who enters the final year of his Rangers contract this summer. He is one of eight players who could leave for free and put pen to paper on a pre-contract elsewhere in January.

The star has been linked to a number of clubs this summer, with this premature Ibrox departure looking possible. A report from Spain claimed that Seville had tabled an offer worth £7m.

Recent reports have linked the striker with Aston Villa which would see the Columbian reunite with ex-boss Steven Gerrard but van Bronckhorst will be keen to retain his main man if the right offer doesn't emerge.
