Concerned Kenny Miller reckons Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent could be holding off on penning new Rangers contracts until the end of the summer transfer window.
There was good news for the Ibrox faithful this week as James Tavernier pledged his future to the club, but questions remain over the attacking duo who are now in the final year of their Light Blues' contracts. Both players caught the eye on route to the Europa League final last term, but have remained Rangers players so far this summer despite reported interest from clubs in England and across Europe.
Boss Gio van Bronckhorst stated that talks remain ongoing with the two players over their long-term future in the Scottish Premiership, but former Ibrox frontman Miller reckons the duo could be keeping their options open with less than two weeks to go until the end of the window. He reckons more clubs could look at landing a deal for Morelos and Kent as deadline day approaches.
Miller told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: “I think what it means is they are in a different stage of their career to James Tavernier, maybe in their life. Tav is settled and been up here a long time.
“Ryan is 25 and Alfredo is 26. They might genuinely be hanging about until the end of this transfer window.
"There is panic buttons that will be being pushed all over Europe when teams don’t get who they want. They might think they can get a steal with a player who only has a year left, while prices at the start of the window might be a bit more inflated.”
