Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst admits he would like situations over Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos contract status resolved before the World Cup.
Morelos and Kent are both out of contract at the end of the season and will be able to sign pre-contracts elsewhere from January, and Rangers will be keen to stop two of their most valuable assets walking away for nothing at the end of the campaign. The likes of Ryan Jack have also entered the final year of their Ibrox contract and could leave following the conclusion of the Scottish Premiership campaign.
Pressure is being ramped up on sporting director Ross Wilson to conclude negotiations with the club's key players with the league set to go into cold storage for the World Cup in Qatar. Speaking ahead of the Premier Sports Cup clash with Dundee, van Bronckhorst admits he was keen to see a conclusion before the tournament. When quizzed on if he wanted a resolution to the contract talks before the World Cup break, the Rangers boss said: "As a manager, yes.
"Ideally, of course. But it's up to the players and it's up to the club. Ross is busy negotiating and in talking. At the moment that is the status."
