Alexis Mac Allister has revealed what the highlight of his first day training with Liverpool was.
The Argentina international joined the Reds from Brighton for a fee believed to be in the region of £35m last month, and reported to the AXA Training Centre for his first day of training on Tuesday.
There, the World Cup winner was checked over before getting to work in the gym and taking part in Liverpool’s dreaded lactate test out on the pitches - which was won by club legend Mohamed Salah.
Following his first day of pre-season training, Mac Allister was asked by club media what had been his highlight. And he shared how he had cheekily tried to sabotage one of his team-mate’s when taking part in the lactate test.

“My first highlight was when I tried to make a foul on Diogo (Jota) when we were doing the test, the lactate test,” he told the club. “It's nice, it's nice to be here with my team-mates. Of course a tough day, but nice to start pre-season like this.”
Mac Allister was one of 14 summer international players to report to the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday, with the majority of Jur
gen Klopp’s first-team squad now back for pre-season training, with only Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott the only players yet to return. The pair helped England win the European Under-21 Championship this summer, with the former scoring the winner in a man-of-the- match performance in Saturday's final, and will link up with their Liverpool team-mates later this summer.
