Alexandre Lacazette has once again reminded Arsenal fans about his commitment to the club, and why Mikel Arteta had selected him as temporary club captain.
The Frenchman sent a heart-warming message to an Arsenal fan who had tweeted about her son being bullied.
Lacazette saw that the young lad was also an Arsenal supporter and generously offered to invite him and his mum to a match despite not being tagged or mentioned in the original tweet.
It is gestures like these that set a good example for the rest of Arteta’s squad and if his contract situation was not at a critical stage, he would certainly be a favourite for the permanent captain role.
Lacazette has been Arsenal captain in the absence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was stripped of the role following another disciplinary breach and then sold to Barcelona.
Hi Fran, really sorry to hear about your son’s situation. Id love to invite you both to a game. Bullies will never win. Please check your dm ♣️❤️

The decision to give the Frenchman the armband was heavily questioned due to his ongoing contractual situation with the club.
The 30-year-old’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the season with no guarantee he will sign a new one, as Lyon are showing interest which the Ligue 1 side’s club president confirmed.
Speaking via Metro, Jean-Michel Aulas said: “We’ll do our best to sign Alexandre Lacazette in June. We’ve always remained in contact with him.”
However, since taking on the responsibility as captain, Lacazette has been exemplary for the rest of the squad and the team’s performances have seen a dramatic improvement as a result.
This amazing gesture in inviting a fan to the game without being tagged is one of the multiple occasions where Lacazette has shown excellent morals and proof he has the necessary qualities to be the club captain.
Charlie Patino is on the fringes of the Arsenal squad and only recently made his first-team debut. Despite this, Lacazette still took the time to help the youngster settle in with a warming Instagram message insisting that he takes part in the song initiation for Arsenal’s next game.
This was followed up when he also had banter with new young signing Aaron Ramsdale after he was awarded goal of the year, which came against Sheffield United before the England goalkeeper made the switch to Arsenal.
Being a leader isn’t just about taking care of your teammates, but it is also ensuring that the fans are well looked after and this is exactly what Lacazette has shown.
If the Frenchman is to depart from the club at the end of the season, then there will be no doubting his commitment to the club over the last five years he spent at the Emirates Stadium.
