Alexandra Burke became emotional on Loose Women as she was asked why she hadn't shared her baby's gender and name. The former X Factor winner shared the news she had become a mum in June back in July with an adorable instagram post.
Alexandra posted a photo of the newborn baby's tiny feet and wrote: "Welcome to the world our little grape. We already love you more than words can say." She first shared the news of her pregnancy with footballer Darren Randolph in a sweet video she posted on Instagram back in February, reports The Manchester Evening News.
The clip, posted to Alex's thousands of followers on Valentine's Day, showed the then-parents-to-be walking their dogs in a park. The couple were video holding hands and taking selfies together before revealing Alexandra's blossoming baby bump. The one-minute video saw West Ham goalkeeper Darren bend down and kiss her baby bump before the happy couple shared a kiss.

Alexandra and Darren previously admitted to struggling with coming up with a suitable name for their bundle of joy. The new mum told HELLO! magazine: "We are still deciding on a name, but we've got a few floating around. Ever since I fell pregnant, we've affectionately called the baby 'Grape'. I think some people may have thought that was their name!"
On Monday (October 10), Alexandra appeared on Loose Women to chat about becoming a mum and her work commitments which are keeping her more than busy. Ten weeks after giving birth, the singer and theatre star re-joined Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat where she acts as the Narrator and will soon be taking up a role in panto at the London Palladium.
After chatting about her work and how she's finding being a new mum, Ruth Langsford asked why she had made the decision to not share her child's sex and name, with them being referred to as 'the baby'. She explained how her fame after winning the talent show influenced her decision since becoming a mother while getting emotional.
She composed herself but with her voice still slightly quivering as she fought back tears, the 34-year-old said: ‘I’ve never really spoken about this. Obviously, I come from X Factor and that’s a public show. I’m very grateful for the platform that’s made me who I am today.
"In the process – I hate getting emotional talking about this. In the process of me being who I am – I asked for all this but my family never." Ruth and fellow panellists Janet Street Porter, Jane Moore and Katie Piper all offered her support, telling her she didn’t need to talk about it.
But the new mum added: "It just… The impact on them is hard." She also said: "I wanna protect the baby as much as I can and let the baby make its own decision. I don’t wanna hurt anyone in the process of who I am and the life that I’ve chosen."
