Right that’s it from me, but we’ll have a report on Zverev’s victory online shortly. He’s going to take some stopping this weekend judging by today’s performance. Yes, Alcaraz wasn’t at his best physically, but Zverev appears to have added an extra dimension to his game; he’s moving better, his forehand is stronger, he’s coming to the net at every opportunity and he’s hitting winners from all over the court. If we end up with a Zverev v Sinner final on Sunday it should be benissimo. Bye!

Meanwhile over in Malaga, Britain’s line-up against Germany is as expected for their Billie Jean King Cup Finals tie, with Emma Raducanu leading out the team in the first singles against Jule Niemeier, with Katie Boulter facing Laura Siegmund, and Olivia Nicholls and Heather Watson nominated for doubles.
The tie was due to start at 4pm GMT, but it’ll be delayed because Paula Badosa, backed by the Spanish crowd, has forced a deciding set against Iga Swiatek to keep their contest alive against Poland.
