Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has left Sweden's international camp after picking up a minor injury earlier this week. The 23-year-old celebrated his birthday on Wednesday by training away from his team-mates after a 'little feeling'.
Sweden are preparing for their Nations League clash with Serbia on Saturday but will have to do so without their star striker, with Isak now being sent home to return to England.
"It is of course sad mainly for Alex but also for us as a team," Sweden boss Janne Andersson confirmed on Thursday. "After speaking with both our medical team and Alex, it is the right decision for him to leave.

"I hope he is back as soon as possible. Currently, we will not take out any new players. Now the full focus is on the preparations against Serbia on Saturday."
Isak's setback will be a huge concern for Newcastle, who have suffered terrible injury luck already this season. The former Real Sociedad striker has replaced the sidelined Callum Wilson in recent games and has not yet played alongside Allan Saint-Maximin either.
Wilson looks close to making a return after narrowly missing out on a squad place against Bournemouth on Saturday. Saint-Maximin, however, may still be on the treatment table after the international break.
“He's had a very minor setback with the physios," Howe said of the Frenchman. "So, whether or not after the international break, he’ll be fit, is slightly unclear, but it’s certainly not long-term. But not clear if he’ll be fit for our next game [against Fulham on October 1] yet.”
Newcastle will assess Isak before making a call as to whether to Swede can face Fulham after the international break. Eddie Howe will also be hopeful of Callum Wilson being back for the capital visit.
