Alexander Isak says he plays his best football when connected to the game which bodes well for Newcastle United moving forward. The Magpies' record transfer signing made a solid start to his black and white tenure but an injury picked up on international duty curtailed his first few months on Tyneside.
The Swedish striker has been one of the standout performers for the Toon in recent weeks, alongside fellow striker Callum Wilson. The latter of the duo has contributed with nine goal contributions, eight of those goals, in the calendar month of April.
Isak himself boasts eight - seven of those being goals - in his last nine games. There have been plenty of conversations had regarding whether the two can play together - which we now know the answer being yes, they can.
Supporters of a black and white contingent are yet to see the pair start a game together, but we've seen glimpses of them playing aside one another to suggest it could be a match made in heaven.
Isak told Premier League uncut: "I believe in my own qualities. It's not only the goal scoring part, I like to contribute with a lot of different things, link-up play and I think I can contribute.
"The most important thing is to score goals but I think I'm playing my best football when I'm connected to the game and I'm involved."
