Football Focus presenter Alex Scott has paid tribute to the football magazine show after it was announced the show is being scrapped 52 years after it first appeared on screens.
In a statement the BBC announced the show was being axed after “extensive consideration” due to a changing media landscape, with the lost programming to offset with an increase in digital content incluing made-for-YouTube shows.
“To have been part of this show has been incredibly special,” Scott told fans on Instagram. “I’m so grateful and proud of the eight years that I’ve been involved.”
She also revealed she had already planned to leave the show at the end of the season, before news of its axing had been announced.
