Alex Jones appears on The One Show despite 'tricky and challenging' patch in her life

Alex Jones put on a brave face while presenting The One Show on Tuesday, July 26, after she shared a post online outlining a 'tricky and challenging patch' in her life. The Welsh presenter shared that she hadn't had a lot of time for social media as she had been working hard and spending time with her children, reported Wales Online.

She wrote: "Things have been a bit tricky for us recently and, in all honesty, I haven’t had time to be on here between working and the children but I randomly logged on and saw all your lovely messages gently asking if we were all ok.

"I was touched by your kindness and so I just wanted to check in and say 'thank you', and that even though life has been a bit challenging, we are ok and still managing to enjoy the beginning of the holidays and there's still plenty to smile about! (I'll pop some stuff on my stories) #whenlifegivesyoulemons #thekindnessofstrangers."

The presenter did not reference the post when she co-presented the BBC One Show alongside former professional footballer Jermaine Jenas. They were discussing the Lionesses' Euro semi-final clash against Sweden with presenter Alex Scott.

They were also joined by three of the Celebrity MasterChef contestants – Danny Jones, Paul Chuckle and Nancy Dell’Olio. Richie Anderson also revealed what we can expect from the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony on Thursday (July 28).

Following her social media post, the television star was inundated with good wishes. One person wrote: "Sending hugs," and another added: "Sending love Alex to you and your family." Celebrity pals also commented as Good Morning Britain's Charlotte Hawkins wrote: "Hope all OK, sending love," while Izzy Judd added: "Sending love," followed by love heart emojis.
