Everton star Alex Iwobi has sent a message to supporters after suffering an injury.
The Blues midfielder picked up an ankle injury during the defeat to Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup on Friday night. Iwobi was forced to be stretchered off in the second half at Old Trafford.
The ECHO understands that Iwobi will undergo a scan on his ankle in the coming days, with initial fears suggesting it could be ligament damage. The Nigeria international was replaced in the 52nd minute by Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Iwobi suffered the injury after a challenge from Man United defender Tyrell Malacia. He would later spend a prolonged period on the sidelines receiving treatment, where he was comforted by team-mates Seamus Coleman and Demarai Gray.
Now Iwobi has taken to social media to send a message to Everton fans following the injury. In his post, the midfielder wrote: “Appreciate the love, back soon.”
Prior to the injury, Iwobi had been one of Everton’s most important players this season. In his 21 appearances, the midfielder had scored one goal and provided six assists in all competitions.
