Alex Iwobi has praised manager Frank Lampard's calming influence as the reason behind his up-turn in form.
The Nigerian international has registered six assists so far this season for the Toffees, having already doubled the amount he amassed during the previous campaign. A mainstay under Everton boss Lampard, the 26-year-old is seemingly finding his form amid battles with his own mental health.
Having moved from Arsenal back in 2019, the former Gunners man was often used as a scapegoat for the sides troubling midfield issues last season. Having returned from international duty following Lampard's arrival, the midfielder has insisted his kind words have helped him rekindle his form as of late.

"Last season I wasn't playing as much as I'd like to and then in January I had the Africa Cup of Nations and I had that red card (at the tournament) which essentially knocked us out and it was a difficult time for me," Iwobi began, speaking to ITV most recently.
"I came back to a new manager with Frank Lampard and I'm grateful to him as he said 'Why don't you play matches the way you train?'. That pressure which was on my shoulders just left me,'' he added. ''He gave me that confidence so I had that freedom to enjoy my football. Ever since I've had that mindset where I go into the game fearless and express myself."
Opening up on his struggles as of late, Iwobi added he feels the stigma around men opening up is something that needs to change, hoping he can aid the dynamic around it.
"I feel like it is something within men, especially black men, as society is positioned not do that and if you do you are weak. Be OK being vulnerable, there is nothing wrong with it."
