Alec Baldwin plans to make his acting comeback in spring in what will be his first role since the since the accidental deadly shooting of cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, on the set of Rust.
The 64-year-old is set to take to the Broadway stage in an adaptation of 1994 play, Art, alongside Monk star Tony Shalhoub and Brothers Garcia actor John Leguizamo according to the New York Post.
The actor, who is currently involved in a police investigation regarding Halyna's tragic passing, has admitted he has struggled to find work since the incident, which occurred in October last year.
He recently told CNN : "I got fired from another job yesterday. There I was all set to go to a movie, jump on a plane … I've been talking with these guys for months and they told me yesterday we don't want to do the film with you because of this.
He went on to claim that the stress of the incident has "taken years off my life" - while crediting his wife, Hilaria, for helping prevent him from quitting the industry entirely.
He told the news channel: "If I didn't have my wife, I don't know where I would be right now.
"If I didn't have her, I probably would have quit, retired, gone off, you know sold everything I owned, got a house in the middle of nowhere and just you know did find something else to do, sell real estate."
Baldwin has recently filmed two Christmas films, however, according to Variety.
The news outlet reported that he landed in Rome in March to shoot both Kid Santa and Billie's Magic World - both directed by Italian director Francesco Cinquemani and produced by Baldwin himself, alongside brother William.
Parisian comedy 'Art', meanwhile, directed by Matthew Warchus is expected to open early next year.
Earlier this summer, Alec’s wife Hilaria gave an update on the latest child that she and her Hollywood star husband are expecting together.
The couple already have six children together – with a new daughter due to join the family in the coming month.
The 38-year-old yoga instructor already has daughter Carmen, eight, sons Rafael, six, Leonardo, five, Romeo, four, and Eduardo, one and daughter Maria, one, with Alec, who is set to welcome his eighth child after having 26-year-old daughter Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger.
