Budget supermarket Aldi has called upon members of the public to help them find suitable locations in Scotland for new branches - and they will pay a fee to those who help.
The popular budget supermarket has announced plans to expand their presence across the country and they will pay a finder's fee to anyone who helps identify suitable locations. Hull Live reports that the popular German grocer - which currently has 960 stores across the entire UK - revealed a wish list of locations it wants to acquire for new stores. The list of potential locations includes Bonnyrigg, Falkirk and Edinburgh.
It comes after the UK's fifth largest supermarket unveiled their multi-million pound investment plan to expand their presence throughout Scotland. The budget supermarket has since opened its milestone 100th store at Edinburgh's Hermiston Gait Retail Park.
Members of the public could be paid a finder's fee that is either 1.5 percent of the total freehold purchase price or 10 percent of the first year’s rent for leaseholds.
George Brown, National Property Director at Aldi UK, said: “By opening more Aldi stores, we can provide affordable, high-quality food to even more people.
“But despite our growth in recent years, some people still don’t have access to a local store, which is why it is our mission to continue on with our ambitious growth plans and change that. Our finder’s fee is available to anyone who can find Aldi an appropriate property so we’d encourage people to share any suitable suggestions and get it touch.”
