Aldi unveils new Pancake Day range including animal pan and shopper say they 'need' it

Aldi has unveiled a range of new products in preparation for Pancake Day on March 1, and shoppers have rushed to share their thoughts.

Pancake Day, also known as Shrove Tuesday, is a traditional feast day to mark the start of Lent the next day on Ash Wednesday.

It is customary to eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, as traditionally all remaining rich foods were consumed before Lent to use them up — hence the name Pancake Day.

This year, Aldi customers can get a head start on preparations for the big day using the budget giant's new line of kitchen appliances and products.

The retailer is selling a pancake pan consisting of seven moulds so that multiple pancakes can be made at once, as well as a crepe and waffle maker, as well as measuring jugs and pancake accessories.

Taking to Facebook, Aldi wrote: "Don't flip out this Pancake Day, we've got you covered with a range of products to help you butter up your family and show off your pancake making skills. Available in-store whilst stocks last."
