Aldi Special Buy fans have branded a new breakfast fakeaway sandwich maker on offer now as ‘so pointless’. However many found the £29.99 machine gave them visions of bringing favourites like the McDonald’s McMuffin to their dinner table at a fraction of the cost.
In a new video on the Aldi Special Buy instagram page, the chain said: “Some are loving IT, we are loving this NEW breakfast muffin maker Head in-store to grab yours for the perfect fakeaway brekkie now! #AisleofAldi #ILoveAldi #kitchengadgets #Breakfastmuffin #BreakfastMuffinMaker.”
It provoked a big reaction -with more than 2,500 likes and 500 plus comments - many were alerting their families and friends. However, some were rather less impressed: “Laura Price said: “I mean. It’s great, but for £30 I’d probably use it twice, and it’d sit in the cupboard.”
SB258 added: “You have to pre Cook the sausage anyway!! Just do it separately! So pointless.” Martyn Dove added: “Literally no need for this device whatsoever.”
However many were impressed at the idea of creating breakfast muffins in their own home.
Qiqa NBdwandwa said: “Shutttt uppp gotta get me this baddie.” Sparkles 28 added: “love this.”Harley Homes put it simply: “Get in my belly!” To which Aldi replied: “As long as it’s not the machine you're going to eat!”
The video showed the boxes on the shelf in an Aldi priced at £29.99. Then it went through a demonstration of how to make a sausage and egg muffin.
