Aldi shoppers have been having their say after getting their hands on the 'Next Big Thing' Harrison and Griffiths Cakes cakes by Nottinghamshire couple after they landed in stories following Thursday's show.
Arnold couple Paulette Griffiths and Colin Harrison, of Harrison and Griffiths Cakes scored success on Channel 4’s ‘Aldi's Next Big Thing’, a show which gives small-scale food producers the chance to pitch their ideas for the chance of a lifetime. Their success on the show has resulted in their Jamaican rum cakes being sold in Aldi stores.
The winning Jamaican rum cakes were on Aldi shelves from October 28 and fans were quick to get out and buy the £4.99 cake.

Taking to the popular Aldi shoppers UK Facebook group, shoppers said that it was ‘delicious’. One shopper commented: “The rum cake is absolutely amazing, would buy again.”
Another added: “the cake was delicious if you like rum.”
One person took to the comments and said: "It was amazing, best cake ever."
Whilst others thought £4.99 was a bit pricey for the cake. Another fan added: “I brought the Rum cake, yes a bit expensive but it's very nice for a treat.”
“Not sure the size of it is worth £4.99 though”, one commenter added. Another shopper said: “£4.99 but it’s not very big.”
