Aldi shoppers praise 'bargain' garden log burner ahead of sunny weekend

Aldi shoppers have praised a "bargain" log burner being sold by the budget giant ahead of a sunny and warm weekend in Glasgow.

The retailer sells Gardenline Outdoor Log Burners online for the price of £69.99, and one satisfied customer took to Facebook to share a photo of the product.

According to the Aldi website, the black steel log burner features a built-in log store and weighs just over 13kg.

It will appeal to those wanting to enjoy the sun this weekend with a garden party of barbecue before the weather turns cold next week.

The product description states: "Enjoy the warmth of a real log burner from the comfort of your own garden with this Gardenline Outdoor Log Burner.

"In a gorgeous contemporary style and easy to assemble, whether you are relaxing in the daytime or on a cooler summer evening, this fabulous log burner is ideal for adding comforting touches to your outdoor space."

Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, the shopper who bought the log burner wrote: "Loving this Specialbuy from Aldi. 70 quid well spent."

Before long, the post had attracted more than 5,000 likes and over 3,200 comments — primarily from consumers praising the product.

One shared: "I bought one of these 3 years ago it’s still going strong I love it".

A second wrote: "We have this, they look great and give good heat off".

"I love mine purchased it last year," echoed a third.

"Lasts well too - we bought ours last yr and love it," a fourth stated.

Another agreed: "Got mine last year too. What a bargain."

However, not everyone was such a fan of the log burner — with some complaining that it rusts easily.

One Facebook user commented: "Make sure you cover it properly they rust really bad I have one which I love just hate having to constantly repaint".

"Had one for 2/3 yrs rusts a little but we treated it looks like new again, but its a great bit of kit we have outside bar and have used it all through the winter, would highly recommend," a second shared.

A third agreed: "We've had ours 3 years and the rust isn't great on it. Looked fab for the first wee while! Still does the job though!"

"They do get very rusty after living outdoors for a while, but the heat they give off is amazing," a fourth stated.
