Aldi shoppers 'gutted' to learn of major change that will impact Specialbuys fans

Aldi is making a huge change to its iconic Specialbuys section - and shoppers are not happy.

The budget supermarket soon will no longer be selling its middle-aisle products for home delivery. Aldi's Specialbuys include a range of unique purchases, from DIY, kitchenware, garden furniture, appliances to cosmetics and much more.

Released in batches every Thursday, Specialbuys are notorious for flying off store shelves, meaning that shoppers who missed their chance could previously order them on Aldi's website. These products will now be sold exclusively in store, but Aldi has not confirmed an exact date this will go through, as Specialbuys are still available online.

A statement on Aldi's website said: "Like Take That, the Creme Egg McFlurry and a Freddo for 10p, all good things must come to an end. Soon Aldi will no longer sell Specialbuys for home delivery.

"While we understand this is disappointing, right now Aldi is more committed than ever to delivering Everyday Low Prices across the entire Aldi range, when our customers need it most.

"But do not worry! You’ll still be able to shop our amazing range of Specialbuys in store, with new delights landing every Thursday and Sunday and now with almost 1,000 stores across the UK, we'll be ready to welcome you with open arms (and more middle-aisle magic!).

"Thank you for your support during this transition."

Aldi shoppers are less than pleased with the news and were quick to express this after it was revealed on a popular Facebook shopping group. While some were happy it would help keep their bank accounts healthy, others said the it will limit them from enjoying the Specialbuys section.

Under a post announcing the news on Extreme Couponing and Bargaining, one shopper commented: "I think it’s a shame. No longer being able to shop online means it’s unlikely I’ll be able to get any Specialbuys anymore as I don’t live close to an Aldi and don’t drive."

"That’s great news for those of us who are disabled," wrote another. A third penned: "Gutted as I order a fair few things on there.

"Can not get down on a Thursday as working and my local one only has the odd thing in. Plus what about people that don’t have cars? Terrible idea."

As of now, Aldi's Specialbuys are still available to order online, which you can see on Aldi's website here.
