A self-confessed 'premium skin care junkie' has joined the list of converts to a £2.99 beauty staple being sold by a budget supermarket. Aldi is currently stocking a toner online that some shoppers are comparing to a high end beauty line.
Part of the Lacura range sold by the well known retailer, the Healthy Glow Retinol Toner is cruelty free, comes in a 250ml bottle and is currently being sold for under three quid.
The supermarket says: "This Lacura Healthy Glow Retinol Toner is just the product you need to add to your skincare routine". Adding: "It has been formulated to remove impurities and brighten your skin with a natural and healthy glow. Leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth with a newfound radiance.
Fans of the product are comparing it to high end brands including PIXI which sells a Glow Tonic and also a Retinol Tonic in 250ml bottles, which currently retail at £18 in Boots. Both get positive reviews on the Nottingham founded store's website.

Positive reviews are also piling up for Aldi's dupe. The Lacura Healthy Glow Retinol Toner stacked up an impressive 4.8 stars out of five overall from purchasers. 126 out of 128 said that they would recommend the product to a friend.
One person wrote: "Great product. I have used more expensive ones and the ingredients are the same as this but at a fraction of the price. I have bought a few once on sale as well." Another person agreed: "Luxury product at value price. Lovely toner just as good as expensive well know brands. Great value for money. Love this!". Someone else added: "Lovely value toner. Compares with PIXI", with another agreeing: "Lovely Value Toner, Compares favourably to expensive brand."
Another shopper said: "Lacura, unbeatable beauty buys. A repeat purchase. All my beauty products are Lacura, a top quality brand at an unbeatable price. As I don't wear makeup, I like my skin to look good 'naked' and this retinol toner is perfect for keeping my skin clear and healthy."
Others were worried that the retailer would stop selling the item. One person said: "Love this product! It would appear they may be intending to stop selling this product - which if true, is a huge shame! So I bought five at half price, to be sure ! My 78-year-old skin definitely benefits from this, which I use every day under moisturiser and foundation. Love it."
While nothing on the Aldi website indicates that the product is being discontinued, Nottinghamshire Live has approached Aldi to confirm its plans.
Praise for the product continued: "Impressed", wrote one shopper, adding: "Terrific value and easily competes with much more expensive brands." Another said: "This is another great toner from Aldi, I have used previous ones and they are all very good, this one smells like it would be from an expensive brand."
Finally, our 'skin care junkie' wrote: "As good as market leader. Love this products , having spent a fortune on a well known tonic I thought I'd give these a try on recommendation from my daughter. They are brilliant, just as good as my previous item but at a fraction of the price! A definite staple for me and I am very much a premium skin care junkie. I love this."
This is an online exclusive so isn't available in store according to the Aldi website.
