An Aldi customer was left in shock after finding what looked like 'a dead snake' inside a tin of beans.
The 26-year-old, from Porth in Wales, bought the tin of Corale premium quality baked beans from a local Aldi branch and said she nearly threw it across the room after she opened the lid. She saw what she described as "something grey and black with distinctive markings" floating in the sauce.
In a Tweet, alongside a picture of the item, she wrote: "So, um... is that a snake in my beans?" The post was viewed a million times and commented on by hundreds of people on social media.

One person described it as "traumatising," while another replied, "Are you sure it’s not listed in the ingredients under 'addertives'?" "I can't even look at that - oh my God," said a third.
However, the customer - who asked not to be named - said she was too freaked out by the discovery to get to the bottom of what the mystery ingredient actually was, reports WalesOnline. "I almost threw the tin across the room when I opened it up and saw what was inside," she explained.
"I physically couldn't bring myself to touch it. So I poked it with a fork and it all moved at once, after which point I refused to look again. So I wrapped it up and took it to Aldi to complain and they gave me two bottles of wine as a goodwill gesture."
After apologising for the inconvenience, a spokesperson for Aldi made a suggestion regarding what could have been in the tin. "Whilst we would not be able to explain the exact cause of this, it may have been due to a breach in the packaging which has allowed air to enter and cause the item to perish," they said.
"We will ensure your comments regarding this product are passed onto the relevant department. In the meantime, please return to the store for a full refund - please ask to speak to a member of staff who will be more than willing to help."
An Aldi spokesperson said: “Although very rare, incidents like this can occasionally occur if packaging is damaged at any point before the product is consumed, as the contents may be exposed to air. We have apologised to the customer and have asked her to return the product packaging to store for a full refund.”
